Auction Overview
▾
Impound Car Auction sells certain impounded, abandoned, unclaimed, and otherwise lawfully disposed vehicles through auction in accordance with applicable law. All vehicles are offered subject to these Terms & Conditions, as well as any additional rules, notices, or sale announcements posted for a specific auction.
We reserve the right to update auction procedures, remove vehicles from sale, reject bids, suspend bidding privileges, and make decisions necessary to manage the auction process in a fair and lawful manner.
Eligible Buyers
▾
Unless otherwise stated, vehicles sold by Impound Car Auction are intended for buyers authorized under applicable law, including licensed Automotive Dismantlers & Recyclers and licensed Scrap Processors.
All bidders must provide any requested business licenses, government-issued identification, tax documents, or other supporting records required to verify eligibility before bidding or before a vehicle is released.
Impound Car Auction reserves the right to deny registration, suspend an account, reject a bid, or refuse a sale if bidder eligibility cannot be verified to our satisfaction.
Bidder Registration
▾
Each bidder must register using their own legal name or business name. Account sharing is strictly prohibited. You are fully responsible for all activity conducted under your account, including all bids placed using your username and password.
Any vehicle purchased under your account will be sold to the registered bidder on file. If another individual uses your account, you remain financially responsible for any winning bids and all related obligations.
Viewing & Inspection
▾
In-person viewing is encouraged. Viewing hours will be posted for each auction and may vary depending on the sale.
All vehicles are available for inspection only during designated viewing times. Vehicles may not be started, moved, dismantled, repaired, entered, or otherwise disturbed unless specifically authorized by our staff.
Vehicle descriptions, VIN information, photographs, condition notes, and auction listings are provided for convenience only. Bidders are solely responsible for inspecting vehicles and making their own determination as to condition, value, and suitability before placing a bid.
Proxy Bidding
▾
When available, proxy bidding allows you to enter the maximum amount you are willing to pay for a vehicle. Our auction platform may then place bids on your behalf in the stated bid increments until your maximum bid is reached or another bidder exceeds it.
Proxy bidding is intended to help bidders compete without monitoring the auction continuously. However, entering a proxy bid does not guarantee that you will win the vehicle.
Extended Bidding
▾
If extended bidding is enabled for a sale, any bidding activity that occurs within the final moments of a lot’s closing time may automatically extend bidding for that lot for an additional period. This feature gives all bidders a final opportunity to compete fairly.
The exact extension period, when applicable, will be stated in the auction platform or sale terms.
Owner Redemption / Vehicle Removal from Auction
▾
Vehicles offered for sale may be subject to redemption, withdrawal, or removal from auction where permitted by law. If a vehicle is redeemed or otherwise lawfully removed from sale before the auction is completed, Impound Car Auction shall have no liability to any bidder for the withdrawal of that vehicle, even if bids have already been placed.
By participating in our auctions, bidders understand and accept that not every listed vehicle is guaranteed to remain available through final closing.
Bidding Terms
▾
All bids are binding. Once a bid is placed, it may not be withdrawn except as expressly permitted by Impound Car Auction.
The highest accepted bid at the close of auction will be considered the winning bid, subject to these Terms & Conditions and any applicable legal requirements. We reserve the right to reject any bid, resolve bidding disputes, reopen bidding in the event of error, cancel a sale, or remove a lot from auction at any time.
Payment Terms
▾
Payment in full is due by the deadline posted for the auction. Unless otherwise stated in the sale terms, all purchases must be paid in full no later than the close of business on the day of auction.
Accepted forms of payment:

Default
▾
Failure to pay for a vehicle within the required time constitutes default. If a bidder defaults, Impound Car Auction may cancel the sale, revoke bidding privileges, apply relisting or administrative fees, retain deposits if applicable, and pursue any other remedy available by law.
Defaulting bidders may be prohibited from participating in future auctions until all outstanding balances and fees are paid in full.
